PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
Enter an exciting journey through the profession of pharmacy, one of the nation's most rapidly growing professions. There are many exciting opportunities for pharmacy technicians and the future holds the promise of greatly expanded roles for all. This course will give you the information and the skills needed to function in pharmacies in all facilities under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist, and also prepare you to successfully pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).
The Tender Care Training Center Pharmacy Technician training course is accredited and authorized by the Non-Public Post Secondary Education Commission of Georgia and is a registered member of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board as a PTCB advocate. (Visit www.PTCB.org )
Pharmacy Technicians can work in:
Retail: Opportunities include working for independent or chain drug stores. Chain stores also have positions in the main office for techs i the third party, computer support or other areas which do not include the actual filling or prescriptions.
Hospital: Opportunities include inpatient, out-patient, intravenous, nutritional, and compounding areas of the pharmacy. Many hospitals offer the chance to specialize in certain practice areas which are covered by "substations" of main pharmacy )ie, surgery, emergency medicine, ICU/CCU, OB/GYNE and pediatrics, etc.)
Manufacturing: Work for pharmaceutical manufacturers in the research, development, and production or drug products.
Nuclear: Prepare radioactive entities for use in diagnostic and treatment of disease

Requirements:
- Must show proof of High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Must have picture identification and Social Security Card
- Must provide background check prior to starting class
- Must submit Ten (10) Panel Drug Screen prior to clinical externship
Dress Code:
- Students may wear casual/comfortable clothes to class.
- Instructors will inform students when uniforms will be required. (Uniforms will consist of hospital scrubs, Navy Top, Navy Pants, White Lab Coat/White Shoes with non-slip soles)
