A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a person who assists individuals with healthcare needs, activities of daily living and providing bedside care, including basic nursing procedures. The CNA is an important member of the health care team who often holds a high level of experience and ability to perform a large variety of nursing tasks.
CNA's work in a variety of settings, such as: Home Health, In-Patients Clinics, Out-Patient Clinics, Physician Offices, Long Term Care Facilities, Hospitals, Rehabilitation Centers, GYN Centers, Hospice, Personal Care Homes, Assisted Living Facilities and Emergency Rooms.
Requirements:
- Must have a picture identification i.e. state issued ID/driver's license or military identification card.
- Must have a valid Social Security Card.
- Must be medically and physically fit to perform the physical tasks of lifting, transferring, moving, and turning patients with assistance without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of self and others including patients, workers and etc.
- A recent background check (within 30 days of enrollment).
Dress Code:
- Students may wear casual/comfortable clothes to class.
- Uniforms must be worn for Clinical's. Uniforms will consist of hospital scrubs. (Purple pants/dress/skirts, purple tops & white shoes with non-slip soles)
